NextTrain does not collect, store, or share any personal information. Your transit favorites are stored only on your device.
What We Don't Collect
NextTrain is designed with your privacy in mind. We do not collect:
- Personal information (name, email, phone number)
- Location data
- Usage analytics
- Device identifiers
- Advertising identifiers
- Any other personal data
How NextTrain Works
Local Storage Only: Your favorite transit stops are stored locally on your device using your browser's localStorage (web) or UserDefaults (iOS app). This data never leaves your device.
API Requests: When you view transit predictions, NextTrain makes requests to public transit APIs (AC Transit and BART) to fetch real-time data. These requests contain only the stop and route information needed to get predictions - no personal information is included.
No User Accounts: NextTrain doesn't require or support user accounts. There's no sign-up, no login, and no user profiles.
Third-Party Services
NextTrain connects to the following public transit APIs to provide real-time predictions:
- AC Transit API: For AC Transit bus predictions
- BART API: For BART train predictions
These services receive only the minimum information needed (stop ID, route ID) to provide predictions. No personal information is transmitted.
Data Security
Since NextTrain doesn't collect any personal data, there's no user data to secure on our servers. Your favorite stops remain on your device and are managed entirely by your device's operating system.
Children's Privacy
NextTrain does not collect any information from anyone, including children under 13 years of age.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated revision date.
